Ledger Live Login – Secure Access to Your Crypto Wallet
Ledger Live is the official application used to manage your cryptocurrency through a Ledger hardware wallet. It does not use a traditional username/password login system. Instead, you access your wallet by connecting your Ledger device and optionally entering a local app password if enabled.
1. Understanding Ledger Live Login
Ledger Live is a non-custodial application, meaning:
- Your private keys are never stored online
- You control access with your Ledger hardware wallet and PIN
- An optional password can protect the Ledger Live app interface locally
There is no online account to log into — everything is secured locally by your device.
2. How to Log Into Ledger Live
For Existing Users
Step 1: Launch Ledger Live
Open the Ledger Live desktop or mobile app on your device.
Step 2: Enter App Password (If Enabled)
If you’ve set a Ledger Live app password, enter it to unlock the interface.
Step 3: Connect Your Ledger Device
Plug in your Ledger Nano S Plus, Nano X, or Stax.
Enter your PIN code on the device when prompted.
Step 4: Verify and Access
Once the device is unlocked and verified, you can view your accounts, manage assets, and approve transactions.
3. Password Lock (App Security Feature)
Ledger Live offers an optional local password lock to:
- Prevent others from viewing your portfolio on your device
- Add an extra layer of protection to the Ledger Live app
This password is not linked to your crypto wallet. If forgotten, you must reset the app and re-import your accounts using your Ledger device.
4. Security Best Practices
- Never share your 24-word recovery phrase
- Always verify transaction details on your Ledger device before approving
- Lock your device when not in use
- Use the app password lock for local privacy
- Update your Ledger device firmware and Ledger Live app regularly
5. Disclaimer
Ledger Live is a non-custodial application. Ledger does not store your passwords, PINs, or recovery phrases. Users are responsible for securing their recovery phrase and devices. Ledger cannot help you recover your assets if your recovery phrase is lost or compromised.
